As individuals who work within the healthcare industry, (Assisi hospice) The heavy importance of caring for others, are placed upon their shoulders. Our work touches on methods of how individuals can return or recognize that same care towards themselves. Marks of Care aims to extend a thread of inquiry on methods of mark-making as a form of self-care and expression.

By creating a physical form of emotions healthcare workers feel in their daily lives, Marks of Care creates a space of healing through gestural abstractions. Movements and visuals of the marks mimic different mental states that these nurses often find themselves in and by having no control over how the ink spreads or moves allows the work to be raw and organic which are layered together and scattered on the walls.
